Just a quick heads up to share an update:
the Barcelona 2010 Festival of Artists' Books, "Human Book" (in which I am participating as a book artist) which features the work of over 200 book artists from around the world, has now moved to its third and final exhibition location: the Biblioteca de Brugherio, (Brugherio, Milano) Italy.
(here's an invitation for you, if you are planning to be in the neighbourhood! ;)
The Festival "Human Book" 2010 was inaugurated on April 23rd, the Día de St. Jordi (feast of St. George), in Barcelona's "Plaça Sant Just".

(can you find me in the photo? hint: I'm taking a picture)
(here are Festival curator, Elisa Pellacani, along with Fidel Pereiro and Sofia Piqueras at the moment of the Festival inauguration)
From April 26 to May 1st, the exhibition moved to the "Loring Art" bookshop, just off Plaça Catalunya, in Barcelona's city centre.
(this woman happens to be looking at one of my pieces: "Shrine to St. Jordi")
Following that, the festival relocated on May 6th, to the Pati Llimona Civic Centre, situated in Barcelona's Barrio Gotico, where it has been up until today (May 15).
(the civic centre lies on excavated foundations of Barcelona's earliest Roman settlement)
Led by Elisa Pellicani (curator of the exhibition), the "Asociación cultural ILDE" is doing an extremely admirable job of bringing greater recognition to the work of book artists (bookbinders, creators of handmade limited editions, etc., calligraphers...) from around the world through activities, such as this annual exhibition/festival of artists' books.
In addition to curating the exhibition, Elisa also coordinated a published edition of all the works appearing in the "Human Book Festival". Serving as a catalogue, the edition also features essays written by a number of representitives from institutions and relevant art centers from around the world. The volume (246 pg., illustrated, thread-bound, 20 Euros) is available throughout the Festival and can also be purchased via the curator at: epellacani@yahoo.it

It has been a thrill and a great honor for me to have had 8 of my books appear included in this itinerant exhibition, together with those of so many talented book artists from around the world!
Thank you, Elisa...thank you, Asociación ILDE!
